Oral Surgery

(Oral Surgery)

Generally, there is a common misconception that oral surgery only involves tooth extraction and wisdom tooth removal. However, oral surgery encompasses a broader range of treatments that aim to address issues related to the chewing system, oral structures, jawbones, and facial organs. These treatments may be necessary due to dental conditions such as severe infections, protruding or misaligned jawbones, short or crooked jaws, periodontal pocket treatment, or abscess removal in the oral cavity. Additionally, oral surgery involves the treatment of fractured jawbones, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain, inflammation of facial nerves, bone grafting procedures, correction of sleep apnea, corrective surgery for cleft lip and palate, as well as preparing the oral cavity for prosthetic tooth placement.
