Decayed Tooth Treatment
Tooth decay can be treated in various ways depending on the stage of the disease. One common treatment is the usage of fluoride, either topically applied or through toothpaste. Fluoride helps to remineralize teeth that are in the early stages of decay, bringing them back to a normal state. Regular brushing with fluoride toothpaste and leaving the toothpaste in the mouth for at least 2 minutes before rinsing can help prevent further tooth decay (However, it is important to be cautious with young children to prevent them from swallowing toothpaste, as it can have adverse effects). Individuals who have removable or fixed dental prosthetics should also be mindful of proper oral hygiene and maintenance.
Tooth filling:
When a tooth is visibly decayed and there is clear evidence of damage to the tooth structure.
Root canal treatment:
This is a treatment for a decayed tooth that has progressed and reached the nerve pulp.
Tooth extraction:
When inflammation has spread extensively and there is no remaining healthy tooth structure that can be saved, extraction is necessary.
